Please read the following Terms & Conditions which outline our obligations to you and your responsibilities to us.

The following terms, client and guest all refer to you the traveler.


Bookings can be made by telephone or online. You can pay by bank transfer or cheque. A 25% deposit is required at the time of your booking and the full payment must be made no later than 30 days prior to departure. Once we have received payment we will email you a receipt and confirmation. If full payment is not received 30 days prior to your departure date, cancellation is assumed.

Date Changes

We understand that sometimes plans change. So if, after you have made a booking, you wish to change your date of departure you can! An administrative fee of £35 is applicable. If you wish to change your flight departure or return date you will be subject to the Terms & Conditions of your travel agent.

Name Changes

If for any reason you need to cancel your trip but you have a friend who would like to take your place then the normal cancellation & booking policy is applicable. We cannot replace your original booking with another person.

Cancellations and Refunds

If you need to cancel your booking for any reason you must do so in writing by mail or email. If you cancel your booking the following charges will apply.

  • For cancellations received more than 30 days prior to departure the deposit will be lost.
  • For cancellations received less than 30 days prior to departure full payment will be lost.

No cancellation fees will be waived as a result of the following:

  • Injury or sickness
  • Delayed, rescheduled or missing flights.
  • Climatic, social or political problems.
  • Pandemics or Epidemics.

However, you may be able to have any cancellation fees refunded by your Travel Insurance Company, subject to their terms.

Medical information

While a high level of fitness is not required, a measure of physical activity is involved. It is essential that persons with any medical problems and/or related dietary restrictions make them known to us well before departure. Anti – Malaria precautions should also be taken and these are the sole responsibility of the client. For up to date advice on required vaccinations, it is imperative you seek advice from your Doctor or medical practitioner.


It is a condition of booking that the sole responsibility for the correct comprehensive travel and medical insurance lies with the guest. We will not be held responsible for any loss, theft or damage of baggage or belongings. Travel Insurance is therefore recommended.


We understand that everyone wants to have a good time. However all guests must agree to comply with the authority and decisions of Africa Hands On and her representatives and to be respectful of local customs and sensibilities. We reserve the right to ask anyone who is deliberately not complying, or causing trouble, to leave the group. In the event you are asked to leave the group no refund will be given and you will have no claim against Africa Hands On.

Limitations of Liability

This section defines Africa Hands on responsibility with respect to all of our safaris and tours booked for our guests, including extensions and independent arrangements. Please read it carefully.

Some courses, treks and other activities are provided by independent third parties. You should note that Africa Hands On can arrange bookings for these courses, treks and other activities on your behalf but are not appointed agents or representatives of these third parties and cannot accept liability for them or their activities.

Please note that your booking is accepted on the understanding that you come on the programme at your own risk. It is not possible for us to be responsible for the actions or omissions of those involved in your programme over whom we have no direct control, such as employees of airlines, transport undertakings and others. We will however give every reasonable assistance in helping you to resolve any dispute.

The responsibility of Africa Hands On is limited. We are not liable for any personal injury, death, damage, loss, accident or delay which may be occasioned by reason of any defect in any vehicle, or through the acts of default of any company or person engaged in conveying you or carrying out the arrangements of the tour or otherwise in connection therewith.

We assume no responsibility for delay or change in air or other services, howsoever caused, irregularity, inconvenience or additional expenses in connection with any service resulting directly or indirectly from: defect of any vehicle, act of God, act of war, insurrection, revolt, terrorism, government restrictions and regulations, force majeure, other civil uprisings or disturbances, discrepancies or changes in transit, hotel and other services over which we have no control.
